“No politics – just pray!”

At the end of this day, September 11th … with all of the talk of attacks … death … war – it might be good for us to remember the first thing on the prayer list of Jesus: “I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.” Tonight, when you go to bed … when you say your “bedtime” prayers … pray for those in authority, recognizing that God has given some to be in authority … for those in the church, hoping for the “peaceful” and “quiet” but committing to the “godliness” and “holiness” … for all those in the world, pursuing every method available to us (lo-tech or hi-tech) to preach the truth (recognizing that there is a “the truth”) until “the earth … be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea;” so that all men can be saved. So … tonight, what will you pray for those in charge … for those in the church … for those in the world who wait – die waiting to hear the truth?

(Please share your prayer with me. I will not respond, because you are not talking to me.)
