Welcome home, Frances. Just for the record – according to the word of God – you were born into the family of God on Saturday, May 10, 2008, at about 1:50p.

Each of you came to this moment from different places … with different personalities … with different bruises or scars. But you came with the same needs that all of us have when we come to Jesus … for we all need a Friend … a Savior … a Lord. You found Him … never let Him go. He will do the same for you.

You also came with a sober and sincere intention of listening to Jesus. Each of you had been “taught” about the Lord in ways approved by your parents, pastors, and priests. But when you were “taught the way of the Lord more adequately” (Acts 18), you did not resist – argue – or delay. Without tarrying – you got up and were baptized, letting Jesus wash away your sins (Acts 22).

For the record – according to the word of God – when you confessed your faith in Jesus and were buried with Him in baptism …

you were saved (Mark 16) …

you were forgiven of your sins (Acts 2) …

you were given the gift of the Spirit (Acts 2) …

you were raised to walk in a new life (Romans 6) …

you were born as a child of God (Galatians 3) …

There are many other blessings you received at the moment of your new birth … but I will let your brothers and sisters, who read these birth announcements, share those with you – as they welcome you to the family.
